How to use
Each key adds to the expression at the top, and the large number shows the result as you type. Function keys such as sin, log and √ insert their opening bracket for you — if you forget to close it, = closes it automatically.
- DEG | RAD switches the angle unit for trig functions. Use DEG for 30°, 45°; use RAD for values like π/6. Your choice is remembered next time.
- xʸ raises to a power:
2^10= 1,024 - n! is the factorial:
5!= 120 (whole numbers from 0 up to 170) - EXP enters powers of ten:
3EXP8means 3 × 10⁸ - Ans reuses the previous answer. Pressing an operator straight after
=continues from the result.
Keyboard shortcuts
Digits and + - * / ^ ( ) ! % type as themselves. s sin, c cos, t tan, l log, n ln, r √, p π. Enter evaluates and Esc clears.
Order of operations
Brackets → factorial and percent → powers → multiplication and division → addition and subtraction. Powers evaluate right to left, so 2^3^2 is 2⁹ = 512, and -2^2 is −(2²) = −4. Implied multiplication works too: 2π and 3sin(30) are read as products.
Handy values
- sin 30° = 0.5, cos 60° = 0.5, tan 45° = 1
- log 100 = 2 (base 10), ln e = 1 (natural log)
- Values with no defined result, such as tan 90°, show "Undefined".
Results are shown to 12 significant digits; tiny floating-point rounding differences are possible.
