What is a pyeong?
The pyeong (평) is a traditional Korean unit of area, roughly the size of two tatami mats. Korea officially switched to square meters in 2007, but people still describe apartments in pyeong — a "34-pyeong" apartment usually has about 84 m² of private floor space.
Korean listings quote two figures: the exclusive area (전용면적), which is the space inside your unit, and the supply area (공급면적), which adds a share of hallways and stairs. The everyday pyeong size usually refers to the supply area, so it is larger than the exclusive area converted directly.
